80% 21.5m Recycled Wool, 20% Recycled Nylon
An exciting new yarn born from our ongoing commitment to sustainability. In partnership with one of our fibre suppliers, we spent the past 12 months developing the primary fibre at its core: recycled wool.
While we’ve always collected our mill ends and sold them for use in secondary and tertiary products, this yarn marks the first time we’ve been able to re-spin our own byproduct into something entirely new. The wool portion is made exclusively from our in-house natural fibre waste - gathered throughout our manufacturing process, baled, and reprocessed using innovative machinery into combed top for a second life at the spinning frame.
Because the fibre is sourced directly from mill ends, its composition is a true mixed bag (quite literally). It is primarily made up of our Superwash Merino (the fibre we produce in the greatest volume) but also includes collected waste from EcoWash and Untreated Merino, Treated and Untreated BFL, Cashmere, Silk, Nylon, Linen, Stellina, and other natural white fibres we spin.
The nylon component is GRS-certified recycled nylon - the same fibre used in our popular Earth Friendly Sock yarn (SN409).
As with any yarn made from reclaimed mill ends, slight variations in physical properties may occur between skeins - a reflection of its unique and sustainable origin.
